Ocean Casino Resort announced an opening date for the anticipated arrival of celebrity chef Stephen Starr new restaurants. The property is taking reservations for Chez Frites and Sunny’s on Aug. 1.

Ocean Casino partnered with STARR Restaurants in April, and Atlantic City casino, which was scheduled for the summer.

Chez Frites, an American breakfast and lunch concept, and Sunny’s, serving French cuisine, is expected to give the property diverse food options. Starr said in a statement:

“American and French cuisines have always been two of my favorites, each offering its own unique sense of comfort, tradition and indulgence.

“Helping to shape these experiences with Chez Frites and Sunny’s in Atlantic City is especially exciting, and I can’t wait for guests to experience them at Ocean Casino Resort this summer.”

Ocean Casino has also undergone a $50 million expansion project this year, which has been part of a redevelopment plan the property invested in since taking over in 2018.

Chez Frites offerings

Chez Frites is located on Ocean Casino’s lobby level, across from the The Park. The new establishment is going to provide the following food options:

  • Steak
  • Salmon
  • Lobster
  • Salad
  • Unlimited golden fries

The press released described that Chez Frites “is the perfect haven for foodies seeking refined yet approachable cuisine.” The restaurant provides a stripped-down contemporary French flair.

Cozy breakfast and lunch concept

Sunny’s comprises more of American cuisine that is served during breakfast and lunch. Ocean Casino put an emphasis on Sunny’s being a “cozy” option.

The restaurant is 11 stories inside Ocean Casino, providing fantastic views and a serene ambiance. The menu offers classic comfort food with plenty of twists, which include:

  • Pigs in a blanket
  • Nutella French toast
  • Lobster roll
  • Meatloaf

When both locations in August, guests will have plenty of time to grab a bite before the end of summer.
